    Green Canyon Cukang Taneuh in Pangandaran

    Green Canyon is a term to refer to tourist destination Cukang Taneuh in West Java, Indonesia. It is Indonesian version of Grand Canyon. The popularity of this spot has been spreading not only for local tourists but also foreign tourists. They feel so curious to visit Green Canyon Cukang Taneuh. If you don’t like to take a long queue, it is so much better if you don’t come on weekend because this place will be so crowed.

    But, if you only can come on weekend or holiday, in the morning is the best choice. Green Canyon Cukang Taneuh is open from 07.30 to 16.00. If you don’t want to feel regret, please don’t come on rainy season because this place will be closed for public. The tide of water is higher and it is not safe to explore the river.

    Green Canyon Cukang Taneuh lies at Cijulang sub-district, Pangandaran Regency, West Java, Indonesia. If you start your journey from Jakarta, you can ride a car through Bandung toward Tasikmalaya. From Tasikmalaya, there are two routes you can choose. First, you can take east direction toward Tasik City – Ciamis – Banjar City – Pangandaran – Parigi – Cijulang. It is around 170 km.

    The second route, you can take south direction through Tasik City – Cipatujah – Cikalong – Cimanuk – Cijulang and it takes around 60 km. Although the second route is shorter but the traffic is crowed by trucks and this is make the road become dusty. However, if you start your journey from Central Java, you can take a route from Purworejo – Kebumen – Wangon – Banjar – Pangandaran – Caimis.

    Green Canyon Cukang Taneuh offers you beautiful scenery. The rocks are covered by algae and you will enjoy natural beauty along Cijulang River. The river is flanked by two hills and dense of trees. It is no wonder if the atmosphere along the river becomes shady and challenging. The current of Cijulang River will penetrate the caves which are decorated by amazing stalactites and stalagmites that becomes home for bats. Inside the caves, there are small waterfalls which is make you experiences the sensation. If you want to swim, you can jump into the water and swim together with fishes, cool and clear water.
