    Ngebel Lake is a natural lake located in District Ngebel, Ponorogo. Subdistrict Ngebel itself is located at the foot of Mount Wilis. Lake Ngebel located about 30 KM from the city center Ponorogo or popularly known as the City reog. Lake Ngebel circumference of about 5 KM. With temperatures between 20-26 degrees Celsius, cool, distant cold temperatures make visitors more comfortable visiting Lake Ngebel. Besides reog, Lake Ngebel is one of the tourist mainstays owned Ponorogo. Water supply for Lake Ngebel consists of a variety of sources. Fairly heavy water source comes from Channel Santen. In addition, there are also flowing over the river, where the upstream of the river there is a waterfall called Niagara Toyomarto. Lake Ngebel connected with the story of a dragon named "Baru Klinting". The snake is the incarnation of Patih the Bantar Angin Kingdom. At that time the duke was meditating in the form of a snake, and accidentally there is a citizen who brought the snake to the incarnation of the village.Arriving at the village, snake incarnation is going to be used as food because of its large size. By residents of the surrounding villages, the lake was named lake Ngebel, meaning lake which emit a pungent odor.Ngebel lake legend was reputedly closely linked and have an important role in the history of Ponorogo. It is said that one of the founders of this district that is Batoro Katong.Before doing the symbols of Islam in Ponorogo, Batoro first cleanse themselves in the springs, which is near Ngebel lake now known as Kucur Batoro.
