Jalan Malioboro, or Malioboro Street, is one of the most popular destination in Yogyakarta. This street is such a major shopping street in Yogyakarta and it lies in the heart of Yogyakarta Special Territory.

The street is the centre of Yogyakarta's largest tourist district surrounded with many hotels and restaurants nearby. Sidewalks on both sides of the street are crowded with small stalls selling a variety of goods. In the evening several open-air streetside restaurants, called lesehan or Angkringan, operate along the street.

In addition to the shopping crowd, there are also some tourism object around Malioboro Street, which are, Tugu Yogyakarta, Stasiun Tugu, Gedung Agung, Beringharjo traditional market, Vredeburg ford dan Serangan Oemoem 1 Maret Monument.

I agree with you. Malioboro is one of the most popular destination in Yogyakarta. I have been here but only in the daytime. Maybe next travel I will walk in the night on Malioboro.
