Pacitan is regency in East Java that most of the area is in the form of limestone and series of Kidul Mountain, with the soil that not suitable for plantation, especially for rice. This regency has direct border with Ponorogo in north, Trenggalek in east, Hindia Ocean in south and Wonogiri (Central Java) in west.
Pacitan is famous by its mining and popular with agate stone craft that located in Donorejo village. Surprisingly, this agate stone or popular by Batu Akik gives the most significant income to local area. In matter of tourism, Pacitan is famous by its caves, beaches and artificial destinations. Moreover, in this area there are some founding about ancient fossil.
Banyu Tibo WaterfallBanyu Tibo Waterfall is located on the beach where the water falling into the South coast. The name Banyu Tibo is the name given by the local community where the waterfalls are located. Banyu Tibo means the falling water, according to the Java language. The source of this water comes from underground springs from the karst mountains that are in the north. To reach this waterfall is easy. The route is the same as we heading to Klayar beach. Wherever you come head to Punung Market, punung sub-district, Pacitan. The easiest access is somehow taken from Solo or Yogyakarta.
Goa GongGong Cave has stalagtite and stalagmite that is said become the beautiful one in South-east Asian. It has about 256 m depth, beside that it also has 5 polls; Rogo Pool, Panguripan Pool, Jiwo Pool, Kamulyan Pool, and Ralung Nisto Pool, which have magical value to heal disease. The beauty of stalagmite and stalagtite is hardly make surprise immortalized by Selo Cengger Bumi named, Cello Giri, Selo Citro Cipto Agung, Cello Pakuan Bomo, Cello Adi Citro Buwono, Cello Bantaran Angin and Cello Susuh Angin. On certain days every Friday, there is a sound of traditional music called "Jaranan" gong (traditional gong) is the instrument which sound hardest than others. Up to now, sometimes its sound still can be heard, that is why this cave is about 256 meters underground, has 12 rooms, 7 springs and one natural bath.
Klayar BeachKlayar Beach is resides in Donorojo district, Pacitan Regency. It is about 35 km towards west Pacitan city. It can reach about 60 minutes from the city. Many rocks like spink in Mesir. Klayar Beach with its dune has a distinctive feature from another. Its waves dashed against the rock spouting from the hole make sound like a bamboo flute. The sprinkling of waves rush to beach and out through the hole spurting about 7 meters high and has a sound like blowing bamboo flute.
Tabuhan CaveTabuhan Cave is on the southwest coast East Java, is the emmense interior of Tabuhan cave. This cave called Tabuhan because it sounds like local musicians play tunes by striking lomesone stalactites that resound in perfect pitch to the music. The cave it self is spectacular, its varilored stalagmites reaching upwards as high as 50 meters toward pendant stalagtites formed by water dripping from the roof
Teleng Ria BeachTeleng Ria beach is the nearest from Pacitan, it is about 5 minutes from the city. This beach faced to 'Pantai Selatan' with extent of white sand along about 3 km length. The distance from the Capital of Pacitan regency to the location is only 3,5 km, and it is easily reached with various vehicle. The wave is medium and enjoyable for swimming and also to have a picnic with family. It has white sand and beautiful panorama guarded by limo mountains.
