BOJONEGORO
Bojonegoro is a small town and regency in East
Java, Indonesia. It is located about 100 km west of Surabaya. Bojonegoro
regency has an area of 934 km (230.706 acres), with a population
of 1,156,652 (based on a census in 2000). The eastern border of
Bojonegoro is Lamongan Regency, in the north is Tuban while in the
south is Madiun, Nganjuk and Jombang. To the west in the west are
Ngawi and Blora, in Central Java. The town was founded 20 October
1677 with Mas Toemapel as the first regent. Bojonegoro is famous
for tobacco and hardwood tree (jati) production.
